About Trip:
In detail, the 4 main steps of the visit will give you an idea of modern Cosenza and inexorably projected towards the future. In particular, Piazza Bilotti and more precisely the artistic installation "The Warrior Philosophers" created by Giuseppe Gallo, is the meeting place and starting point of the route, the work is rich in meaning and symbols: the wolf of Sila, the bull of the Sibaritide, the engravings of the names of some populations that have inhabited Calabria (Arbereshe, Occitani, Waldensians, Grecanici and Bruzi). The route continues along Corso Mazzini to admire the works of the MAB, a real open-air museum that everyone can admire and discover the details: the "Head of Caryatids" by Amedeo Modigliani; the "St. George and the Dragon" by Salvator Dalì; the "Great Bather" by Emilio Greco; the "Bifrontal Paracarro" and the "Paracarri" by Pietro Consagra; the "Standing Cardinal" and the "Head of Medusa" by Giacomo Manzù; the "Riace Bronzes", the "Three Columns" and the "Seven of Hearts" by Sasha Sosno; the "Rebirth of Culture" and the "Wolf of Silence" by Mimmo Rotella, the "Hector and Andromache", the "Great Archaeologists" and the "Great Metaphysician" by Giorgio De Chirico (the list is not exhaustive because the Museum is in continuous evolution and expansion). The third stage is the bridge designed by Santiago Calatrava (the highest in Europe he built), named after the patron saint of Calabria, St. Francis of Paola, and soon became the symbol of the city projected into the future. The route ends inside the Monumental Complex of San Domenico, at the gates of the historic center of the city, and the BoCs Museum that houses works of contemporary art created by artists who over time are housed at the Residences Art BoCs, not far away.
